Sewing and Quilt Making Course Outline

This 6 month program has been designed to demonstrate a range of quilt making
and sewing skills by working through a variety of projects, shown above.
Each project has been designed specifically for the program and covers a wide
range of skills.
Members will be able to progress through the lessons with ease and
increase their skill level with each project.

Each lesson with be sent to your email box and will contain:

Month One Three Cute Little Pin Cushions

Skills demonstrated:
Basic rotary cutting of squares and strips
Chaining units together on the sewing machine
Pressing and matching seams
Hand sewing an opening closed with visible Ladder

Month Two Needle Case

Skills demonstrated:
Traditional hand template piecing (hexagons)
Simple construction and applique techniques
Cutting and attaching binding (method one)
Stitch in the ditch machine quilting

Month Three Decorative Patchwork Cushion

Skills demonstrated:
Patchwork block construction using machine piecing
Cross cutting strips
Tacking out for quilting
Simple hand quilting
Cushion construction techniques

Month Four Useful Sewing Bag

Skills Demonstrated:
Bag construction skills
Cross hatch quilting
Hand piecing techniques (decorative pocket)

Month Five Small Wall Quilt

Skills demonstrated:
Advanced machine piecing
Cutting and attaching binding
Rod case and keepers

Month 6 Lap or Cot Quilt

Skills demonstrated
Lessons in coordinating colors
Cutting and attaching borders
Machine piecing
Customized machine quilting
